Masafumi, my suggestion would be trying a clean download, install the patches and rebuild, see if that make any difference.

Thanks,
Joseph

Hi Masafumi,

Yes the patch 0001-patch-for-CAF-and-device-build.patch is not included in the patch package you downloaded from CAF, but is available on BSQUARE's Document and Download website.

Log in and go to the section

APQ8060DB Software Updates – ICS

There you will find the patch.

You are right about a misquote on msm8960, which should be msm8660_surf as you pointed out. We will correct in the paper.

Please download the patch and rebuild, see if you are still seeing the same issue.

Thank you,
Joseph

Please help me.

I downloaded andorid source and patch source while reading the White Paper.
Android source : ics_chocolate, M8260AAABQNLZA30135
patch source : PATCH_MSM8960_13092_Combined_Build_patches_for_DragonBoard_and_MDP8660_for_Android_ICS_20120523.tar.gz

I was executing this patch to android source while reading the White Paper.
But I can't find the "0001-patch-for-CAF-and-device-build.patch" in patch source.

I don't understand that document mistake or I mistake how to download.
Please teach me how to correct download.

About page 7 of Write Paper.pdf(Step4.Create a baseline ———)
Write Paper.pdf was written "mkdir out/target/product/msm8960/".
I think this document mistook.
I think correct is msm8660_surf.
Do I think that it mistake?

So, I change from msm8960 to msm8660_surf and I build it.
Then builder is made execution file without error.

I update the dragonboard to Android 4.0 by using flashing utility.
I change only kernel(boot.img) from this condition.
Then this dragonboad run nomarly.

So,I change all were emmc_appsboot.mbn, system.img.ext4, userdata.img.ext4, persist.img.ext4 and
tombstones.img.ext4, chache.img.ext4, boot.img and recovery.img.

Then, this dragonboard don't run abnormally.
Condition :
1.kernel is up.
2.output android logo to view.
3.infinity loop

Then, kernel massage is
"init: untracked pid 12018 exited
init: untracked pid 12017 exited
acdb_mmap: PMEM is not allocated, yet!
apr_tal: SMD_EVENT_OPEN
pil_modem pil_modem: Failed to locate modem.mdt
request_suspend_state: wakeup (0->0) at 1750632324405 (1970-01-01 08:50:25.691970180 UTC)"

Please give me some information.

Hi Masafumi, to create an image that will work on the device, you need to use a specific branch from Code Aurora Forum.

Not all the software on the device are open sourced. Some software are proprietary and can only be obtained from the image shipped with the device.

BSQUARE has a whitepaper explaining the details in how to recreate a stock image for the Dragonboard:

Whitepaper – APQ8060 DragonBoard Build Script

Please register and log onto our Document and Download website (https://store.bsquare.com/doc_download). There you can find the paper.

One note is that if you start modifying the code, there is a chance that you can break the dependency between the open source software and the proprietary software, making the device non functional. There is a suggestion in the paper describing how you can test your software before flashing.

Hope that helps,
Joseph

I hope to get ICS (Android 4.0) source.
I tried to get ICS (Android 4.0) source in https://www.codeaurora.org site.
I can't execute this ICS.
Please teach me how to get ICS.

I use dragonboard which is Snapdragon-S3 APQ8060.
I think command to get ICS is following.
$ repo init -u git://codeaurora.org/platform/manifest.git -b ics -m M8260AAABQNLZA30116.xml --repo-url=git://codeaurora.org/tools/repo.git
$ repo sync
or
$ repo init -u git://codeaurora.org/platform/manifest.git -b release -m M8260AAABQNLZA30116.xml --repo-url=git://codeaurora.org/tools/repo.git
$ repo sync

Do I mistake this command?
Don't I need to get Patch?

Best Regards,
Masafumi Seike
